  • Ứng dụng

    Methyl sulfoxide (dimethyl sulfoxide, DMSO, CAS 67-68-5) là một dung môi phân cực aprotic độc đáo có khả năng hoà tan đa số hợp chất hữu cơ và vô cơ, vì vậy được dùng rộng rãi trong tổng hợp hữu cơ (phản ứng oxi hoá-khử, chuyển vị, Swern, Kornblum), sản xuất dược phẩm và thuốc thú y như chất tăng thấm qua da, thành phần gel giảm đau cơ-xương-khớp, tá dược tiêm truyền, đồng thời là chất bảo vệ đông lạnh tiêu chuẩn cho tế bào, mô, phôi và máu cuống rốn trong ngân hàng gen; trong công nghệ sinh học và nuôi cấy mô, DMSO giúp duy trì tính toàn vẹn màng tế bào khi hạ nhiệt độ sâu; trong công nghiệp polymer nó là dung môi quay sợi acrylic, polyurethane và chất trợ phân tán cho mực in, sơn, chất tẩy sơn; ngành điện tử dùng DMSO làm chất tẩy photoresist, dung môi rửa vi mạch và điều chỉnh độ dẫn dung dịch pin; trong khai thác dầu khí và khí tự nhiên, nó hỗ trợ khử lưu huỳnh, phá nhũ tương và cải thiện độ chảy, còn trong phòng thí nghiệm phân tích DMSO là dung môi phổ thông cho quang phổ, NMR, xét nghiệm độc tính, nhờ điểm sôi cao, độ bay hơi thấp, tính ổn định nhiệt và khả năng phối trộn với nước cùng hầu hết dung môi hữu cơ.
