    δ-Decalactone (CAS 705-86-2) là một thành phần hương thơm tự nhiên có mùi đào sữa, kem và dừa, được sử dụng rộng rãi trong công nghiệp thực phẩm để tạo hương cho sữa chua, kem, sô-cô-la, kẹo, đồ uống có cồn và không cồn, hỗn hợp hương trái cây, bánh nướng và sản phẩm thay thế sữa; trong mỹ phẩm và chăm sóc cá nhân nó mang lại cảm giác mềm mại, béo ngậy cho kem dưỡng, dầu gội, sữa tắm và son môi; trong ngành nước hoa nó đóng vai trò làm nốt hương trái cây, phảng phất kem sữa trong các sáng tạo gourmand, tropical, cũng như dùng để gia tăng độ sâu cho hương hoa; δ-Decalactone còn được ứng dụng trong thuốc lá điện tử, mồi câu cá, hương liệu thú cưng, chất tẩy rửa có mùi thơm, đồng thời được xem là chất chuẩn phân tích trong nghiên cứu thực vật và kiểm soát chất lượng thực phẩm, phù hợp với nhiều tiêu chuẩn an toàn của FEMA, IFRA, EU và JECFA.
