    (+)-Chrysanthenone (CAS 473-06-3) là một xeton monoterpen bicyclic ở dạng đồng phân quang học (+), được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm khối xây dựng bất đối xứng trong tổng hợp hữu cơ để lắp ráp khung carbocycle căng và mô típ terpenoit; là trung gian then chốt khi phát triển dược chất, hoạt chất nông dược và tiền chất hương liệu; là cơ chất mô hình để khảo sát các biến đổi chọn lọc như khử bất đối xứng, epoxid hóa, Baeyer–Villiger, quang oxy hóa singlet-oxygen, cộng vòng và sắp xếp lại; được dùng đánh giá hiệu năng và độ chọn lọc của xúc tác kim loại, xúc tác hữu cơ và enzyme (ví dụ ketoreductase) cũng như trong nghiên cứu lập thể, động học và mô phỏng tính toán; đồng thời phục vụ làm chất chuẩn/đối chiếu trong phân tích GC–MS/HPLC của tinh dầu và mẫu tự nhiên, trong giảng dạy và phát triển phương pháp, và làm điểm xuất phát linh hoạt để tạo các dẫn xuất alcohol, lacton, epoxide, amino- hoặc hydroxy- nhằm khám phá không gian hóa học mới.
