    Carvyl acetate, (1S,5R)- (CAS 1134-95-8) là một este monoterpen có hương thảo mộc–bạc hà thanh mát với sắc thái gỗ, gia vị và vỏ cam chanh; được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong công nghiệp hương liệu để tăng độ tươi, khuếch tán và độ mượt cho các cấu trúc spearmint, caraway/dill, citrus, fougère và cologne, dùng trong nước hoa mịn, xà phòng, dầu gội, chất tẩy rửa, nước xả, nến và sản phẩm khử mùi, có thể vi bao để giải phóng chậm trong bột giặt; trong tạo hương thực phẩm và chăm sóc răng miệng nó làm tròn vị bạc hà, giảm cạnh menthol và bổ sung nốt thảo mộc xanh trong kẹo, chewing gum, đồ uống, siro, bánh kẹo và kem/nước súc miệng ở liều dấu vết đến ppm; trong công thức, este này phối hợp tốt với citrus và terpenoid (limonene, carvone, linalyl acetate, eucalyptol, α-terpineol), nhưng cần kiểm tra ổn định vì có thể thủy phân ở pH kiềm hoặc nhiệt cao; về mặt tổng hợp và nghiên cứu, cấu hình (1S,5R) khiến chất này hữu ích như khối xây dựng đối quang cho các terpenoid liên quan và làm chất chuẩn cho phân tích đối quang, đánh giá cảm quan và phát triển hệ mang hương, thường được sản xuất bằng este hóa carveol nguồn tinh dầu hoặc bằng con đường tổng hợp, và việc sử dụng phải tuân thủ quy định an toàn–pháp lý hiện hành của từng thị trường.
