    L-Carveol (hỗn hợp cis và trans, CAS 99-48-9) là thành phần hương bạc hà-thảo dược đặc trưng được ứng dụng rộng rãi trong ngành thực phẩm và đồ uống để tạo vị the mát cho kẹo chewing gum, bánh kẹo, đồ uống không cồn; trong công nghiệp hương liệu mỹ phẩm nó đóng vai trò nốt giữa cho nước hoa, xà phòng, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân và vệ sinh răng miệng, đồng thời là tiền chất tổng hợp carvone, dihydrocarvone và nhiều dẫn xuất dược học nhờ khả năng tạo khung terpene có độ chọn lọc lập thể cao; ngoài ra chất này còn được khai thác như chất bảo quản sinh học nhờ đặc tính kháng khuẩn, chống oxi hóa và xua côn trùng tự nhiên, góp phần tạo mùi thơm xanh mát cho chất tẩy rửa gia dụng và chất làm sạch công nghiệp.
