    Bergamotene (CAS 6895-56-3) là một sesquiterpen hydrocarbon có sắc thái mùi cam chanh–gỗ, hơi cay, được ứng dụng như thành phần hương liệu trong nước hoa, mỹ phẩm, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa và sản phẩm chăm sóc nhà cửa để bổ sung chiều sâu và tăng độ bền mùi; trong thực phẩm và đồ uống, nó có thể được dùng ở hàm lượng rất thấp như nốt hương phụ trợ trong các profile bergamot, citrus, tiêu và thảo mộc; trong nghiên cứu và nông nghiệp, bergamotene được khai thác như chất bán hóa học của thực vật để thu hút thiên địch hoặc điều biến hành vi sâu hại trong quản lý dịch hại tổng hợp, đồng thời làm chất chuẩn/đánh dấu trong phân tích GC-MS nhằm định danh, kiểm soát chất lượng và xác thực tinh dầu; trong hóa học hương liệu, nó là nguyên liệu trung gian để tổng hợp dẫn xuất terpen (ví dụ epoxid, alcohol hoặc sản phẩm hydro hóa) giúp tinh chỉnh mùi và độ ổn định công thức, và còn hiện diện trong nến thơm, que khuếch tán cùng các sản phẩm tạo hương không khí, với lưu ý phối chế và bảo quản hạn chế oxy hóa để duy trì hương mong muốn.
