    6-Methyl-3,5-heptadien-2-one (CAS 1604-28-0) là một enon đa liên hợp có tính phản ứng cao, được ứng dụng chủ yếu như nguyên liệu trung gian trong tổng hợp hương liệu và chất tạo mùi, chất điều biến mùi trong pha chế nước hoa, và là khối xây dựng C7 để kéo dài chuỗi polyen hướng tới dẫn xuất terpene/carotenoid; trong hóa học hữu cơ, nó thường làm cơ chất mô hình cho các phản ứng cộng Michael, hydrogen hóa chọn lọc, epoxid hóa chọn lọc vị trí, chuỗi aldol/condens hóa, và cộng nucleophile vào hệ alpha,beta-không no, đồng thời thuận tiện tạo oxime/hydrazone cho dẫn xuất hóa phân tích GC/LC; trong R&D vật liệu và polymer, nhóm enon có thể tham gia phản ứng thiol-Michael để gắn nhóm chức hoặc điều chỉnh bề mặt, và thường được dùng làm chất chuẩn/benchmark khi đánh giá độ chọn lọc, điều khiển lập thể và độ bền của xúc tác.
