    3,3,6-Trimethylhepta-1,5-dien-4-ol (CAS 29887-38-5) là một ancol allylic thuộc họ monoterpenoid, được ứng dụng chủ yếu làm nguyên liệu trung gian/khối xây dựng trong hóa học tinh hữu và hương liệu: dễ chuyển hóa thành các dẫn xuất ester, carbonate, epoxide hoặc các sản phẩm chức hóa khác để điều chỉnh mùi, độ bay hơi và độ ổn định, đồng thời làm tiền chất cho các thành phần hương; có thể được cân nhắc như thành phần hương – vị trong mỹ phẩm, chăm sóc cá nhân hoặc thực phẩm khi đáp ứng tiêu chuẩn và quy định liên quan; thường dùng làm chất nền mô hình trong nghiên cứu xúc tác và phát triển phương pháp (oxy hóa allylic chọn lọc, hydro hóa/hydrosilyl hóa, epoxid hóa, hydrobor hóa/hydroformyl hóa, đồng phân hóa), cũng như chất chuẩn/đối chiếu cho xây dựng phương pháp phân tích GC/GC–MS; ngoài ra hữu ích trong lộ trình tổng hợp dược – nông hóa chất tinh vi như một mảnh C10 linh hoạt nhờ chứa hai liên kết đôi có thể điều chỉnh và nhóm –OH dễ biến đổi; việc áp dụng cụ thể phụ thuộc vào độ tinh khiết, cấu hình lập thể, đánh giá an toàn và quy định địa phương.
