  • Applications

Sodium Dichromate (CAS 10588-01-9) is a strong inorganic chromate salt used as an oxidizing agent in a range of industrial processes, most notably in chrome plating and metal finishing baths. It is employed to form chromate conversion coatings on aluminum, zinc, magnesium, and steel to improve corrosion resistance; serves as an oxidant in organic synthesis and in analytical chemistry; acts as a precursor for chromium-based pigments used in coatings and plastics; and is used in industrial cleaning and surface-preparation formulations for metals prior to processing. Use is subject to local regulations and formulation limits.
