Applications
Lead Chromate (CAS 7758-97-6) is primarily used as a yellow pigment/colorant in paints and coatings, delivering good opacity and color fastness. It is also used as a colorant for plastics via color concentrates/masterbatches and in industrial printing inks. Additionally, PbCrO4 has applications in ceramics and glazes to impart yellow hues and in glass coloration. Historically, it has been used in road-marking paints, although such use is now limited by toxicity concerns and regulatory controls.
