  • Applications

    Ethyl orthoformate is primarily used as a formylating agent for amines to give formamides (N-formylation). It also serves as an intermediate and building block in the synthesis of formamide-type compounds for pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and specialty chemical applications. In organic synthesis it can function as a reagent and solvent, enabling dehydrative formylation steps and related transformations.
