  • Applications

BeSO4 is primarily used as a source of Be2+ in chemical synthesis and as a precursor for Be-containing materials. It finds application in the production of BeO-based ceramics and refractories, where BeO's high thermal stability and stiffness are advantageous. It is also used as a starting material for the manufacture of specialty glass and glass-ceramics that require low dielectric loss and high purity. In metallurgy, BeSO4 can serve as a precursor for beryllium metal production or for Be-containing compounds. Additionally, it may be used in electronics, coatings, and specialty polymers where Be-bearing species are incorporated to impart specific thermal or mechanical properties; handling is specialized and subject to local regulations.
