    Benzal chloride (CAS 98-87-3) is mainly used as an organic intermediate and an electrophilic chloromethylating reagent in chemical synthesis. In industrial manufacturing it is employed as a precursor to functionalized resins and polymers, enabling introduction of chloromethyl groups for subsequent crosslinking or derivatization.
