  • Applications

Ammonium phosphate, monobasic (MAP; CAS 7722-76-1) is widely used as a fertilizer, supplying nitrogen and phosphorus to crops in blended formulations. It is a key component in dry chemical fire extinguishing powders for class A, B, and C fires. In industrial manufacturing, MAP acts as a buffering and acidifying agent and as a phosphorus source in process streams such as electroplating, metal finishing, and water treatment. It also serves as an intermediate for the production of other phosphate-containing additives and as a precursor in phosphate-based specialty chemicals, including certain flame-retardant formulations.
