    Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate (CAS 10102-17-7) là một hợp chất đa dụng trong nhiều ứng dụng công nghiệp: được dùng làm chất cố định ảnh trong xử lý phim và in ảnh để hòa tan các hạt bạc halide còn lại; làm chất khử chlorine để trung hòa chlorine dư trong xử lý nước, nước uống và hệ thống hồ bơi; là chất thử nghiệm và chất khử trong phân tích hóa học, điển hình cho chuẩn độ iodometric và xác định halogen; được sử dụng trong luyện kim đại dương để thu hồi vàng và bạc thông qua quá trình thiosulfate/ammonia; và trong xử lý bột giấy và giấy để trung hòa oxi hóa dư như hypochlorite trong các bước bleaching.
