    (+)-Santolina alcohol (CAS 35671-15-9) là một monoterpenoid quang hoạt được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong lĩnh vực hương liệu-mỹ phẩm như thành phần mang sắc thái thảo mộc, balsamic, hơi long não, góp phần tạo độ tươi, khô sạch và sắc thái kiểu artemisia cho nước hoa, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa và sản phẩm khử mùi; trong phân tích hương-thực phẩm và nghiên cứu mùi, nó được dùng làm chất chuẩn/marker GC-MS, phục vụ nghiên cứu quan hệ cấu trúc-mùi và cảm nhận theo enantiomer, đồng thời trong hóa học tổng hợp hữu cơ đóng vai trò chiral pool/khối xây dựng để tạo các dẫn xuất monoterpen, ester (ví dụ santolinyl acetate) và các khung bicyclic xác định cấu hình phục vụ tổng hợp trung gian tinh vi cho dược chất và agrochemicals.
