    Oxacyclotetradecan-2-one (CAS 1725-04-8) là một lacton vòng lớn 14 cạnh, được ứng dụng trong hương liệu như thành phần tạo sắc thái musk/ambrette sạch và kem sữa, làm chất chuẩn và mốc lưu thời gian trong GC–MS cho nhóm lacton vòng lớn, làm khung và trung gian trong tổng hợp hữu cơ để đánh giá chiến lược macrolacton hóa hoặc đóng vòng, phục vụ nghiên cứu quan hệ cấu trúc–mùi, và được khai thác trong hoá học vật liệu/siêu phân tử như mô hình vòng kỵ nước cho bao gói, tự lắp ghép và tương tác host–guest, cũng như trong nghiên cứu dược hoá để khảo sát tính thấm, tương tác màng và độ ưa béo điển hình của macrocycle.
