    Nerylacetone (CAS 3879-26-3) là một keton terpene có hương cam neroli–citrus xanh dịu, được dùng rộng rãi trong công nghiệp hương liệu để tăng cường và kéo dài các nốt cam chanh, hoa trắng (neroli, orange blossom, petitgrain) và phong cách cologne, đồng thời làm tròn các chủ đề thảo mộc–aromatic (lavender, rosemary) và trái cây xanh; nhờ điểm sôi cao và độ bền tốt, nó phù hợp cho xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, chất làm mềm vải, nến và chăm sóc cá nhân, đóng vai trò chất biến điệu, “fixative” nhẹ và nốt cầu nối giữa top–heart giúp giảm sắc gắt của citral/terpene tự nhiên và tăng cảm giác tự nhiên của công thức; ngoài ứng dụng trực tiếp, Nerylacetone còn được dùng làm trung gian tổng hợp terpenoid mạch hở/vòng (ví dụ dẫn xuất ionone, damascone), trong nghiên cứu và hiệu chuẩn phân tích hương, cũng như chất chuẩn tham chiếu khi xây dựng phương pháp QC cho dầu thơm có nguồn gốc citrus.
