    Myrcenol (CAS 543-39-5) là một monoterpen alcohol có mùi tươi sạch kiểu cam chanh–oải hương–xanh lá, được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong hương liệu và làm trung gian tổng hợp: dùng trực tiếp để tăng cường nốt đầu sáng, sạch cho nước hoa, xịt phòng, nến, xà phòng, dầu gội và một số chất tẩy rửa; sử dụng ở liều vết trong hương thực phẩm để gợi sắc thái cam quýt, thảo mộc và vị hoa houblon; đặc biệt quan trọng như nguyên liệu đầu cho dihydromyrcenol/dihydromyrcenyl acetate và các este myrcenyl khác, cũng như nhiều dẫn xuất terpene qua các phản ứng oxy hóa, hydro hóa, este hóa phục vụ công nghiệp mùi hương; trong R&D, nó là khối xây dựng cho biến đổi allylic chọn lọc, tổng hợp bất đối xứng và mô phỏng hương thiên nhiên; thường được bổ sung chất chống oxy hóa và bảo quản tránh ánh sáng/không khí do dễ hình thành peroxit, đồng thời mức dùng tuân theo khuyến nghị an toàn (ví dụ IFRA, đánh giá kích ứng và độ bền công thức) trong sản phẩm gia dụng/cá nhân.
