    Isobutyl isovalerate (CAS 589-59-3) là một este có mùi trái cây chín (táo, lê, chuối) được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm chất tạo hương trong đồ uống, kẹo, bánh nướng và kẹo cao su; làm thành phần mùi trong nước hoa, nến thơm, chất làm thơm không khí và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân; đồng thời đóng vai trò dung môi bay hơi/chất mang cho nhựa và hương liệu trong mực in, sơn phủ và keo nhằm hỗ trợ hòa tan, cải thiện độ chảy và rút ngắn thời gian khô; ngoài ra còn được dùng trong chất khử mùi và chất tẩy rửa gia dụng để tạo nốt hương trái cây, làm trung gian tổng hợp hữu cơ, và làm chuẩn tham chiếu/chuẩn làm việc trong kiểm nghiệm hương liệu và kiểm soát chất lượng.
