    Isoamyl isobutyrate (CAS 2050-01-3) là một este mạch nhánh có mùi thơm trái cây tinh tế gợi nhớ hỗn hợp chuối chín, lê và kẹo dâu, vì vậy nó được sử dụng rộng rãi như một chất tạo hương trong công nghiệp thực phẩm để tăng cường hương vị cho đồ uống có ga, siro, kẹo cứng, kẹo dẻo, kem, sữa chua, bánh nướng và kẹo cao su nhai; trong ngành đồ uống có cồn, nó góp phần tạo tầng hương ester đặc trưng cho rượu rum, rượu mùi và cocktail pha sẵn; trong lĩnh vực hương liệu mỹ phẩm và nước hoa, hợp chất này đóng vai trò là note đầu mang sắc thái trái cây tươi mát, giúp cân bằng mùi nền gỗ hay xạ; ngoài ra isoamyl isobutyrate còn được sử dụng như dung môi hữu cơ độ độc thấp trong các chế phẩm dược phẩm tại chỗ, trong mực in và sơn móng tay, hoặc làm chất trung gian tổng hợp dẫn xuất ester khác nhờ khả năng phản ứng transester hóa; đặc tính bay hơi vừa phải, ổn định oxy hóa tốt và khả năng hòa tan cao trong dầu khiến nó trở thành lựa chọn kinh tế cho các công thức cần hương trái cây bền và dịu.
