    Geranyl isobutyrate (CAS 2345-26-8) là este hương có mùi trái cây chín ngọt pha hoa hồng–cam chanh, thường được dùng làm chất tạo hương và điều biến hương trong nhiều ứng dụng: hương thực phẩm (đồ uống, kẹo, bánh nướng, sản phẩm sữa, kẹo cao su) để tăng cảm giác mọng nước và hậu vị ngọt cho các tông táo, lê, đào, dứa và cam quýt; nước hoa và mỹ phẩm cá nhân (fine fragrance, dầu gội, sữa tắm, dưỡng thể) để nâng đỡ top note citrus–trái cây, làm mềm các accord hoa hồng/ylang/jasmine và kéo dài độ bền hương; sản phẩm gia dụng (chất tẩy rửa, nước giặt/xả, xịt phòng, nến, que hương) nhờ độ bền, khả năng hòa tan tốt trong dung môi hữu cơ và tính tương thích cao với aldehyde, ionone, lactone và các este trái cây khác; cũng hữu ích trong R&D hương liệu như “building block” cho profile trái cây–hoa và làm chất chuẩn phân tích; thường dùng ở hàm lượng thấp theo hướng dẫn an toàn (ví dụ IFRA/tiêu chuẩn phụ gia thực phẩm), cần bảo quản kín, tránh nhiệt và ánh sáng để hạn chế oxy hóa và nguy cơ nhạy cảm da ở người mẫn cảm.
