    Geranyl 2-methylbutyrate (CAS 68705-63-5) là este của geraniol có mùi trái cây–citrus–hoa dịu, được ứng dụng rộng rãi làm thành phần hương trong nước hoa cam chanh, cologne, các phối hương hoa hồng/geranium và trái cây nhiệt đới để tăng độ mọng, làm tròn và kéo dài top note, đồng thời bổ sung sắc thái ngọt, xanh thảo, táo/đào/mơ trong sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân (xà phòng, dầu gội, sữa dưỡng), sản phẩm gia dụng (chất giặt rửa, xịt phòng, nến thơm) và công thức hương cho thực phẩm/đồ uống khi phù hợp; đặc tính este giúp thủy phân có kiểm soát giải phóng geraniol nên còn hữu ích như pro-fragrance hoặc chất điều biến khuếch tán mùi trong hệ nhũ/vi nang, làm nguyên liệu trung gian phối trộn và che mùi nền kỹ thuật, với việc sử dụng cần tuân thủ hướng dẫn an toàn và các yêu cầu pháp lý tại từng thị trường.
