    (+)-Copaene (CAS 947-59-1), một sesquiterpen tự nhiên hiện diện trong nhiều tinh dầu, được ứng dụng chủ yếu trong sinh thái học hóa học và nông nghiệp như một chất bán hóa học có tính chọn lọc theo enantiomer thu hút một số ruồi đục quả (đặc biệt là đực Ceratitis capitata), nhờ đó hỗ trợ pha chế mồi nhử, bẫy theo dõi mật độ và quản lý dịch hại tổng hợp; trong phân tích, nó được dùng làm chất chuẩn tham chiếu cho GC–MS/GC đối quang để định tính, định lượng, hiệu chuẩn chỉ số lưu giữ và xác thực nguồn gốc/chất lượng tinh dầu cũng như hồ sơ hương liệu theo giống và vùng trồng; trong nghiên cứu, nó phục vụ khảo sát vai trò cấu hình lập thể trong tín hiệu khứu giác, tối ưu hóa phối trộn tác động hành vi, nghiên cứu tương tác cây–côn trùng và làm mẫu/đối chứng cho phát triển vật liệu phát tán bay hơi, đồng thời ở mức độ nhỏ góp phần vào sắc thái hương gỗ ấm của một số tinh dầu trong công nghệ hương liệu.
