    Citronellyl butyrate (CAS 141-16-2) là ester hương có mùi trái cây–hoa cỏ tươi mát với sắc thái cam chanh và hồng, được dùng rộng rãi trong nước hoa mịn và hương chức năng cho mỹ phẩm, dầu gội sữa tắm, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nước xả vải, chất lau chùi và sản phẩm khử mùi phòng như xịt phòng, nến và que khuếch tán; chất này giúp nâng độ tươi của lớp top note, làm mềm các nốt aldehyd/cam chanh gắt, bổ sung sắc thái trái cây ngọt kiểu lê–mơ hơi nhiệt đới, hoạt động tốt như chất điều biến–kết nối trong các phối hương citrus, rose, muguet, thảo mộc; trong ứng dụng hương liệu thực phẩm, nó được dùng ở mức rất thấp để tạo hoặc tăng cường vị trái cây–citrus–hoa cho đồ uống, kẹo, chewing gum, siro, sản phẩm sữa/đông lạnh và bánh kẹo nướng, hỗ trợ che vị đắng/kim loại và làm tròn vị trong các cấu hình chanh–chanh xanh, táo–lê và hỗn hợp nhiệt đới; cần xác nhận độ phù hợp công thức và tuân thủ giới hạn an toàn, quy chuẩn IFRA và quy định địa phương khi sử dụng.
