    Chamazulene (CAS 529-05-5) là một sesquiterpene họ azulene tạo màu xanh lam của tinh dầu cúc La Mã Đức và cúc nghìn lá, được hình thành từ matricin trong chưng cất lôi cuốn hơi nước và được ứng dụng nhờ hoạt tính chống viêm, chống oxy hóa đã được ghi nhận: làm dịu ban đỏ, giảm kích ứng sau nắng/dao cạo và chăm sóc da nhạy cảm trong kem, serum, dầu dưỡng; hỗ trợ kháng khuẩn nhẹ và cân bằng hàng rào da trong công thức cho da dễ viêm/đỏ; làm chỉ thị trực quan và mục tiêu kiểm nghiệm chất lượng tinh dầu bằng GC/MS (dùng như chất chuẩn tham chiếu); góp phần trong hương liệu và liệu pháp mùi hương như thành phần của “tinh dầu cúc xanh”; được nghiên cứu như khung azulene cho dẫn chất dược mỹ phẩm, chất bắt gốc tự do và tác nhân ức chế 5‑lipoxygenase/COX tiềm năng; đồng thời làm hợp chất mô hình trong quang phổ học–quang hóa do tính chất điện tử đặc thù của azulene; khi ứng dụng cần lưu ý độ nhạy với ánh sáng/oxy, kiểm soát nồng độ, đánh giá an toàn và tuân thủ quy định địa phương.
