    Bis(methylthio)methane (CAS 1618-26-4) là một hợp chất hữu cơ chứa lưu huỳnh có mùi hành tỏi đặc trưng, được sử dụng rộng rãi làm chất tạo hương vị trong công nghiệp thực phẩm (bổ sung vị hành, tỏi, thịt nướng, súp ăn liền), làm thành phần điều hương trong nước hoa và sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân, làm chất trung gian tổng hợp thuốc bảo vệ thực vật và dược phẩm lưu huỳnh, chất ức chế ăn mòn kim loại, chất ổn định và gia tốc lưu hóa cho cao su, phụ gia chống oxy hóa cho dầu nhờn, tác nhân cải thiện độ bền ánh sáng của polyme, cũng như nguồn lưu huỳnh để sản xuất các hợp chất dimethylthiomethane khác trong các phòng thí nghiệm hóa hữu cơ.
