    Benzyl isovalerate (CAS 103-38-8) là một este thơm tự nhiên nhân tạo thường được sử dụng làm thành phần hương liệu trong nước hoa cao cấp nhờ mùi trái cây ngọt dịu và khả năng cố định hương, đồng thời được áp dụng trong sản xuất mỹ phẩm, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nến thơm và tinh dầu khuếch tán để tạo chiều sâu mùi; trong công nghiệp thực phẩm, chất này góp phần tái tạo hương vị táo, dâu, mơ, anh đào, lê, đồng thời che giấu mùi khó chịu của một số phụ gia; trong dược phẩm và thú y, nó được dùng như tá dược hương vị giúp cải thiện tính tuân thủ của bệnh nhân; trong nghiên cứu hoá học, Benzyl isovalerate đóng vai trò mẫu chuẩn phân tích, môi trường kiểm soát phản ứng este hoá, cũng như mô hình hóa chuyển hoá sinh học của este tự nhiên; nhờ độc tính thấp và tính tương hợp sinh học tốt, hợp chất còn được xem xét trong các hệ mang hương từ polyme phân hủy sinh học và vi nhũ tương để giải phóng hương chậm.
