    Antimony pentafluoride (CAS 7783-70-2) là một Lewis acid mạnh được sử dụng làm xúc tác trong tổng hợp hữu cơ, đặc biệt để hình thành các carbocation trung gian trong các phản ứng alkylation và rearrangement. Nó cũng được dùng làm xúc tác cho các phản ứng fluorination và hydrofluorination của hydrocarbon để tạo các hợp chất organofluorine. Dạng axit siêu mạnh khi được ghép với HF hoặc fluorosulfuric acid cho phép thực hiện các phản ứng khó khăn trong sản xuất hóa chất đặc thù. Trong ngành polymers/plastics, SbF5 tham gia vào quá trình polymerization cationic của olefins và vinyl ethers để chế tạo các polymer đặc biệt.
