    Alpha-Longipinene (CAS 5989-08-2) là một sesquiterpen chiral có mùi nhựa–gỗ thông đặc trưng; được ứng dụng hoặc đang được khảo sát làm: (1) thành phần hương trong nước hoa, xịt khử mùi, xà phòng, chất tẩy rửa, nến thơm, sản phẩm chăm sóc cá nhân và khử mùi không khí để tạo sắc thái gỗ ấm, nhựa, khô; (2) chất tạo hương ở mức vi lượng cho đồ uống, kẹo, gum và thực phẩm mang tông thảo mộc/nhựa, phù hợp quy chuẩn hương liệu; (3) nguyên liệu terpene tái tạo và khối xây dựng lập thể trong tổng hợp hữu cơ để tạo trung gian hương–mỹ phẩm, tiền chất nông dược và khung dược chất thông qua các biến đổi như đồng phân hóa, oxy hóa, hydro hóa; (4) nguyên liệu trong phát triển nhựa nền terpene, chất tăng bám dính (tackifier) và chất hóa dẻo sinh học cho keo dán, mực in, sơn–phủ chuyên dụng; (5) đối tượng R&D về hoạt tính sinh học (kháng khuẩn, kháng viêm, xua côn trùng, chống oxy hóa) và công nghệ vi bao/giải phóng có kiểm soát trong sản phẩm chăm sóc nhà cửa và nông nghiệp; (6) chất mang hương trong hệ dung môi/nhũ tương dựa trên terpene nhằm hỗ trợ các công thức xanh thay thế dung môi dầu mỏ.
