    Isoamyl octanoate (còn gọi là isoamyl caprylate, 3-methyl-1-butyl octanoate, CAS 2035-99-6) là một este có hương ngọt béo, gợi nhớ dứa-lê, được ứng dụng rộng rãi để điều vị trong kẹo, kẹo cao su, nước giải khát, sữa chua, bánh nướng, nhân trái cây, rượu mùi, gia vị lỏng; bổ sung nốt hương trái cây mềm mại cho nước hoa, xà phòng, chất khử mùi và chất tẩy rửa gia dụng; đồng thời đóng vai trò dung môi mang hương, chất cải thiện cảm quan cho thức ăn chăn nuôi cao cấp, tiêu chuẩn tham chiếu trong phân tích GC-MS, tiền chất tổng hợp este phức và thành phần dẫn dụ trong bẫy côn trùng, đáp ứng tiêu chuẩn GRAS của FDA cho phụ gia hương thực phẩm.
