    2,2′-(Dithiodimethylene)difuran (CAS 4437-20-1) là hợp chất cầu disulfide giàu lưu huỳnh được sử dụng như tác nhân ghép nối và phân rã có thể tái sinh trong polymer dẫn, chất trung gian tổng hợp dược phẩm chứa dị vòng furan-lưu huỳnh, chất tạo liên kết ngang tự hủy cho hydrogel, phụ gia ổn định chống oxy hóa để kéo dài tuổi thọ cao su, chất điều chỉnh điện tử trong pin lưu trữ năng lượng hữu cơ nhờ khả năng trao đổi electron của liên kết S–S, đồng thời là khối xây dựng quan trọng trong hóa học vật liệu xanh để gắn nhóm disulfide đáp ứng tia UV trong keo sinh học, nhựa in 3D tái chế được và bề mặt tự phục hồi.
