    (1aR,3aS,7bS)-1,1,3a,7-Tetramethyl-1a,2,3,3a,4,5,6,7b-octahydro-1H-cyclopropa[a]naphthalene (CAS 489-29-2) là một hydrocacbon đa vòng kỵ nước, có nhiều tâm bất đối, chủ yếu được ứng dụng trong nghiên cứu và phân tích: làm chất chuẩn/đối chiếu GC/GC‑MS để định tính, thiết lập chỉ số lưu giữ và mô tả hồ sơ bay hơi của tinh dầu, nền hương liệu và mẫu dầu khí; làm khung phân tử cứng cho tổng hợp hữu cơ lập thể (oxy hoá, hydro hoá và chức hoá chọn lọc để thu rượu, xeton, epoxid và các dẫn xuất mùi); làm chất tham chiếu chiro‑quang (CD/VCD) và mô hình cơ chế cho tái bố trí carbocation, mở vòng cyclopropan và quang hoá; đồng thời được khảo sát in vitro về các hoạt tính kiểu terpen (kháng vi sinh, điều biến hành vi côn trùng) và vai trò thành phần mùi, với khả năng triển khai phụ thuộc quy định từng lĩnh vực.
